Man Overboard: Prevention and Response at Sea

Man Overboard - is a sudden and unpredictable situation.

Suddenly a report comes to the bridge that a person has fallen overboard. A flurry of activity, running, and shouting - after about 10 minutes you realise that nothing substantial has been done.

The extracted VDR (Voyage Data Recorder) recording was sent to me anonymously. I was asked to prepare a lesson on this topic to highlight the necessity of being prepared for such a situation. When such a tragedy occurs, like a person falling overboard, there's no time to search for procedures. Action must be taken immediately.
